A day in the life of an 'almost' 3 year old.

I thought it would be fun to write out T's daily schedule and witness how God is growing this toddler into a young boy.

Our day usually starts around 7:30'ish (Tristan is still a GREAT sleeper)...
7:30-8:30- Wake up, play upstairs with Colby, play a phonics game on the Kindle, eat breakfast which always includes chocolate milk.  I have never seen a little person more in love with chocolate milk than Tristan.  As far as breakfast preferences, Tristan will eat some days and others day he won't.  When he does decide that he is hungry he likes smoothies, bananas, granola, waffles and pancakes.  He will not eat eggs, french toast, sausage, most fruits besides bananas or cinnamon roles.

8:30-9:30- Use the potty!! (YEAH) Get dressed, which he still needs help doing, practice abc's, numbers, shapes, colors, ten commandments and reading.

By around 9:30 we are all ready to get out of the house and get our day started.  Three days of the week we go to either the library, the science center, church, the zoo, the trampoline park, the aquarium or a play date with friends.  The other two days of the week Tristan and Colby come with me to the gym and participate in an awesome class called 'Mighty Mites'.  This class is a wonderful 'work-out' class for kids under the age of 6.  Tristan is learning so many things such as hula-hooping, headstands, jumping, fort building and following directions from his 'coach'.

11:30-1pm- Lunch time, watching his favorite DVD (Leapfrog's 'Building Words'), quiet play and getting ready for nap.  His lunch meals are again, hit and miss depending on his appetite for the day.  He loves 'Tristan nuggets' (just regular homemade chicken nuggets), pb&J, grilled cheese and pesto pasta.  Above all his favorite snack right now is carrots and almonds- ha ha!

1-3'ishpm- Nap time.  The kids loves his sleep.  In order to sleep well he must have his blankie, teddie, water, oso blanco, butterfly and his shark comforter.  If any of those items are missing, forget him trying to sleep.  He also loves to have books read to him before nap.

3-5pm- PLAY as much as we can, out of the house.

5-7pm-Dinner, bath time (every night), and normal end of day things.  Right now T loves eating minestrone soup, sweet potatoes and butternut squash.  I know it's a bit strange, but I'll feed the boy when he's hungry, ha ha.

7-8pm- Prayers, singing (usually a Frozen song, lol) and bed time.

Update

Soo, our big update is that we moved and bought a house.  The pictures in the 'picture' section are from our new place and location in the beautiful Southwest.  Our house is much bigger than anything we have had before and the kids are loving running around everywhere and learning how to climb up and down the stairs.  In addition to the house, we have a great big back yard with a garden and grape vines. It has been raining nearly everyday since we have moved in so the kids are learning about rain, lightening and thunder.  Surprisingly, they aren't scared of any of it.  We have located a great church with a HUGE adoption fellowship and brand new friends.  The kids love having their grandparents close by and coming with mommy to soccer practices and watching local baseball games.  Lots of cousins live close by and we have spent multiple days at the pool diving for 'alligators'.
More updates and pictures to come...

Tristan's Daily Activities

On a typical day, this is what Tristan does:
7:30-Wake Up.  Tristan is usually the last one to wake up last in our household.  He sings and talks to himself before we get him out of his crib.  Yes, yes, he is still sleeping in a crib (so thankful he's not climbing, yet).
8-9- Breakfast, learning time, getting dressed and prayer for the day.  Tristan usually drinks a smoothie for breakfast with fruit, yogurt, spinach/kale and milk.  He also loves waffles, oatmeal, hash browns and bananas, anything but eggs.
9-11:30- Park Time.  We always go to the park on weekday mornings, unless it's Wednesday (Bible study).  Tristan has several friends at the park including Kaito, Ben, Josh, Andrew, Sif, Jett and Brody. He plays well with boys older than him.  He's still a little rough with girls.
11:30-12:15- Lunch time and cartoon time.  Tristan LOVES Cat in the Hat and Curious George.  For lunch he usually snacks on avocado sandwiches, pasta or goldfish.
12:15-3'ish- NAP TIME, YEAHHH!  Lately he hasn't been napping very well, like at all :(.
End of nap-5- Snack Time and Outside Time.  Tristan loves walking around our neighborhood and looking for worms and snails.  He loves snails!
5-7- Dinner Time, Bath Time, Prayer Time and Night Time Reading. Tristan always eats what the family is eating for dinner and if he finished his whole plate, he gets a chocolate cookie.  He also drinks lots of milk with his meals and has just figured out how to do 'cheers.'  His night time songs are, 'Jesus Love Me, Go Tell It On The Mountain and Amazing Grace.'  Tristan always sleeps with 'Teddy' and 'Blankie,' always and won't get to sleep without them.
